Internal combustion engine or "Engine" means an energy converter, other than a gas turbine, designed to transform chemical energy (input) into mechanical energy (output) with an internal combustion process it includes, where they have been installed, the emission control system and the communication interface (hardware and messages) between the engine's electronic control unit(s) and any other powertrain or category T vehicle or non-road mobile machinery control unit necessary to comply with this Regulation įishing gear means any equipment, implement, or other thing that can be used in the act of fishing, including any fishing net, rope, line, float, trap, hook, winch, vessel, or aircraft Systems Engineering means preparing specifications, identifying and resolving interface problems, developing test requirements, evaluating test data, and supervising design. The regulation of power by controlling fuel supply in lieu of a throttle is indicative of a compression ignition engine.Įngine degreaser means a cleaning product designed to remove grease, grime, oil and other contaminants from the external surfaces of engines and other mechanical parts. Information society service means a service as defined in point (b) of Article 1(1) of Directive (EU) 2015/1535 of the European Parliament and of the Council Īssociated equipment means equipment that is used in conjunction with a radiographic exposure device to make radiographic exposures that drive, guide, or come in contact with the source.Ĭompression Ignition Engine means an internal combustion engine with operating characteristics significantly similar to the theoretical diesel combustion cycle. Propeller means for a device for propelling an aircraft that has blades on a powerplant driven shaft and that, when rotated, produces by its action on the air, a thrust approximately perpendicular to its plane of rotation and it includes control components normally supplied by its manufacturer, but does not include main and auxiliary rotors or rotating airfoils of powerplants Landing Gear means the installed main and nose landing gear, components and their associated actuators, side braces and parts. IAPPC means a valid international air pollution prevention certificate for a Vessel issued under Annex VI. Parent engine means an engine selected from an engine family in such a way that its emissions characteristics will be representative for that engine family Spares means a part or a sub-assembly or assembly for substitution which is ready to replace an identical or similar part or sub-assembly or assembly including a component or an accessory ĭual-Fuel Engine means an engine that is designed to simultaneously operate with a liquid fuel and a gaseous fuel, both fuels being metered separately, the consumed amount of one of the fuels relative to the other one being able to vary depending on the operation Įngine Manufacturer means CFM International, Inc. At such time as a Replacement Engine shall be so substituted and the Engine for which substitution is made shall be released from the Lien of the Indenture, such replaced Engine shall cease to be an Engine under the Indenture.Īircraft engines means aircraft engines (other than those used in military, customs or police services) powered by jet propulsion or turbine or piston technology and:ĪPU means the auxiliary power unit of the Aircraft.Įngines means, as of any date of determination, both Engines then leased to the Lessee pursuant to the Lease. Nonroad Engine means an internal combustion engine (including the fuel system) that is not used in a Motor Vehicle or a vehicle used solely for competition, or that is not subject to standards promulgated under section 7411 or section 7521 of title 42 of the United States Code, except that this term shall apply to internal combustion engines used to power generators, compressors or similar equipment used in any construction program or project.ĭiesel engine means an engine which works on the compression-ignition principle.Įngine means (a) each of the two engines (generic manufacturer and model ) listed by manufacturer’s serial number and further described in Annex A to the Indenture Supplement originally executed and delivered under the Indenture, whether or not from time to time installed on the Airframe or installed on any other airframe or on any other aircraft, and (b) any Replacement Engine that may from time to time be substituted for an Engine pursuant to Section 7.04 or 7.05 of the Indenture together in each case with any and all related Parts, but excluding items installed or incorporated in or attached to any such engine from time to time that are excluded from the definition of Parts.
